Sorcerer Linux

I have been messing with my operating system of choice all day again. For those readers not in the know, it is Sorcerer, a sources based GNU/Linux operating system. Available at: http://sorcerer.aakin.net/

Anyways, what makes it special in my opinion is that it hands you the keys to your computer, and not in a fatherly: "Take good care of it" sort of way. The other way. :)

Everything is laid bare, and just begging to be tinkered with. Of course, with this amount of configurability, there is plenty of oppertunity to mess up, too. Still, I know most of the things I know about linux because I am running this special OS.
Today I was just re-compiling all my software again to see if any errors slipped in with updates and so on. It's is slightly reminiscent of a jigsaw puzzle where the pieces change shape over time. As is was working on the system I got this uncontrollable urge to mess with where Sorcerer stores files on my hard drive. ( I get these urges from time to time )

So, I have finally decided on:
dev size mount point Filesystem
/dev/sda1 2Gb none swap
/dev/sda2 10Gb / ext3
/dev/sda3 10Gb /var/cache ext3
/dev/sda5 10Gb /var/cache/archive ext3
/dev/sda6 1Gb /home ext3
/dev/sda7 64Gb /local1 ext3

These tight filesystems will make me a little more focused on where I put my data, as keeping that organised was always a little bit of a challenge. I have 26Gb just in photos! Eeeek!

I guess I might have to go delete some someday...
